How Was GCAIN Started

GCAiN was developed by Grand Challenges Africa informed by the demand of innovators to have a curated space where they can engage each other and other ecosystem players.

What is Grand Challenges Africa

Grand Challenges Africa (GC Africa) is an initiative of the Science for Africa Foundation to support the creation of extraordinary innovations that address Africa’s health and development challenges. The initiative seeks to promote Africa-led scientific innovations to help countries better achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by awarding seed and full grants to the continent’s most impressive solutions. The SFA Foundation implements GC Africa in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and other partners.
